Pep Rally: Chippy Nonstop’s Bday

On Aug. 12th, Pep Rally hosted Chippy Nonstop’s annual birthday rave in the same warehouse that “Jerk” was hosted a few weeks prior. Starting off the night was AngelPhroot, a local Toronto DJ that is involved in pretty much every side of the music scene in Toronto. Next was Karim Olen Ash with a B2B set with Babygirl, followed by Chippy herself and Young Teesh as a B2B set. To finish off the night, New Jersey native Uniique and Bronx native Anna Morgan were spinning until approximately 4am. Hosting the night was Chippy of course, as well as Bobby Bowen of Bully Magazine, Kash of SmokedTO, and Aura. The turnout for the night was absolutely incredible and was the biggest that I had seen at a Pep Rally event. The organization is also something to be noted, Pep Rally had a cash bar, VJ installations, snacks, and most importantly their safety team around all night handing out water to anyone who needed it. In my opinion the most notable part of the venue was the sound system, it contained two massive speakers in both corners of the room and blew me away. Once again Pep Rally put together an incredible event where everyone is welcome and provided a safe space specifically for people in the LGBTQ2S+ and BIPOC communities. It was an absolute blast of a night that reminded us that Pep Rally is where you want to be if you’re looking for a rave in Toronto, or just a fun night out regardless of your taste in music.

Please keep in mind if you attend a Pep Rally event, as they’ve stated in the past that they aim to provide a space for the LGBTQ2S+/BIPOC community and that you are a guest and they do not tolerate any form of harassment, prejudice, or harmful intent of any sort.
