Ekkstacy: Live at Hard Luck

Ekkstacy’s tenth date of his “Misery” tour landed him at Hard Luck Bar in Toronto. Following the release of his debut album “Misery”, Ekkstacy consistently sold out venue after venue along this tour. The show started off with DJ and Producer Charlie Shuffler playing some hit biggest songs as well as some alternative fan favorites. Charlie has credits on some of Lil Peep’s biggest songs so it only felt right for him to play songs like “Beamer Boy”, “Witchblades”, and “Starshopping”. He ended his set with all the lights off along with the crowd singing along to “Starshopping”. A moment like that truly reminded everyone how big a loss that Lil Peep’s passing was.

At approximately 9pm, Stacy hit the stage. He started off strong with some of his biggest songs from his new album including “I just wanna hide my face”, “I’m so happy”, and “Wish I was dead”. He then fell back onto songs like “In Love”, “I walk this earth all by myself”, and “It only gets worse, I promise”. Throughout the entirety of his set, the crowd held some of the highest energy I’ve seen in a while. However, it was nice to see that during moments of transition to slower songs in Stacy’s discography, that the crowd was able to match the energy and sing along. Moving towards the end of his set, Ekkstacy announced that the next song was his favorite off of “Misery”. The song he played was “Christian death”, which happens to be my favorite as well, the energy in the crowd peaked for this song and you can see many of those reactions through the photos above.

Finally, Ekkstacy finished his set with a few more fan favorites, and an unreleased track that “you’ll probably never hear again” according to Stacy. Just as I thought the show was coming to an end, the crowd demanded an encore and Ekkstacy decided to come back for a few songs. This show was not one to miss if you’re an Ekkstacy fan, or fan of live music in general. Stacy will be finishing up his tour tonight at a sold out show in Brooklyn, New York.
