“ALL WE HAVE” : An Album by CHILD

ALL WE HAVE, the latest project from producer, rapper, and multi-dimensional artist CHILD is now available on all streaming platforms.
The project began to take form around April of 2022, starting with the production and writing of a few songs. “Not for the sake of making an album, but in the spirit of creating.” says CHILD. A spirit that we see CHILD regularly showing and exercising. CHILD notes that he was approaching a time in which his music began to focus on what feels right, and not on experimenting. “Stripping production down to the essentials and working on writing my stories more clearly and focused.” says CHILD.
During the journey of producing this project, CHILD often revisited his music from previous sessions and began lacing together a common theme. “In the lyrical content, something familiar to me is exploring existential thought. Across all of my work, I talk much about what my future may look like with the cards I was dealt. Life and death, my ambitions and intentions.” states CHILD. ALL WE HAVE shows CHILD hold back hesitation and avoid straying away from these themes. Peering deeper into his thoughts and peeling back the layers of those concepts is at the forefront of this project for CHILD. “… all this to see how much scarier or wonderful these concepts are underneath a microscope.” says CHILD.
CHILD finds himself focusing a lot of this time on a common existence within the human experience, the concept of time and how ever-present and non-existent it is at the same time. “In my mind, my work requires time and revision to be made into something great. But the more I incorporate taking time, especially in this age of consumption, over-saturation, and hyper-information, time surprisingly begins to play less of a factor in the work I produce.” says CHILD. As he moves forward, CHILD states that “There is less of an anxiety toward being perceived. Here lies the secondary theme of duality. The duality being, things we possess and experience in this life are here, but only temporarily. As is time.”
Reflecting upon this experience and process of crafting a project of this nature, CHILD expects ALL WE HAVE to be the body of work that warms people up to the progression and forward motion of hip-hop. Packaged in a way that is unique to CHILD, with his storytelling ability and willingness to be vulnerable. “I hope you enjoy this piece, and I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts.” says CHILD.
